Traits Guide - Anime Origins Wiki
Every trait in Anime Origins with effects, odds, and rarities, plus how Trait Rerolls work and what to chase.
Overview
Traits are random modifiers that dramatically change how a unit performs in Anime Origins. You earn Trait Rerolls from quests, codes, shops, and gameplay, then spend them at the Trait Reroll NPC. Each unit keeps two traits with one active. See the full list below, or start with the beginner guide.
Video Guide
This video covers the best methods for farming Trait Rerolls, Gems, and artifacts in Anime Origins, including weekly shop resets and overnight farms. Watch it to plan your reroll budget, then read the table below for every trait and its odds. Start with the gems guide if you need currency first.
What Are Traits
Every unit rolls traits that add range, damage, cooldown, income, or crit effects. Rarity decides how strong the roll is, from Rare up to the one-of-a-kind Secret trait Immortal. Because traits stack on top of evolutions, they are the final power multiplier for endgame content. Check the unit tier list for units worth rolling.
Two traits are stored per unit, but only one is active at a time. You can swap between them freely between matches, which lets you keep a farming trait and a boss-killing trait on the same carry. Learn which combos work best in the support units guide.
How to Reroll Traits
Rerolling is straightforward once you know where to go. Open the Areas button on the right side of the screen, pick Trait Reroll, and walk to the NPC in that area. Then select the unit you want to improve and spend your Trait Rerolls to roll a new trait. Pair this with the gems guide to fund your rolls.
You can keep the old trait or replace it, and rerolling again replaces the current roll. Auto Reroll spends your stock until a rarity you choose appears, which is handy for chasing Mythics. Watch your stock closely, since Trait Rerolls are finite. See the codes page for free rerolls.
Open the Areas menu
Click the Areas button on the right side of the lobby screen and choose the Trait Reroll option.
Walk to the NPC
Move to the Trait Reroll area and stand near the NPC to open the reroll interface.
Select your unit
Pick the unit you want to improve from your inventory; only units on your team can be rerolled.
Spend Trait Rerolls
Click Reroll to spend one Trait Reroll and replace the active trait with a new random roll.
Keep or swap
Compare the new trait with your stored second trait and keep the better option active.

Trait Rarities
Traits fall into five rarity tiers, and higher tiers roll stronger stat lines with lower odds. Rare traits appear constantly, while Mythic and Secret traits are the chase rolls that define endgame builds. Use the unit tier list to decide which carries deserve your rarest traits.
Rare
Reach I, Fury I, and Haste I. Common rolls that still boost any unit early on.
Epic
Fury III, Haste III, Head Hunter, and Reach III. Strong stat lines worth keeping.
Legendary
Hawkeye, Scholar, Ace, Nimble, and Looting. Premium rolls for carries and farmers.
Mythic & Secret
Hustler, Ascendant, Decay, Rupture, Overseer, and Immortal. Endgame-defining rolls.
Best Traits & Strategy
For damage dealers, Rupture and Overseer are the top Mythic rolls, adding massive crit and true damage. Ascendant shines against bosses and world bosses, while Decay excels in sustained fights. Roll with a purpose and stop once you hit a trait that fits the unit's role. Compare carries in the meta units page.
Farmers and supports want different traits. Looting and Hustler boost income, Scholar accelerates EXP gain, and Hawkeye extends range for safer placements. Do not waste Mythic rolls on supports when Rare income traits do the job. Check the support units guide for role-based picks.
The Secret trait Immortal is a team-wide decision: it grants +200% damage plus cooldown, range, and income bonuses, but only one unit per team can hold it. If you roll it, put it on your best carry and keep a second strong trait stored as backup. Learn about the units that can use it in the secret units page.
Trait Tips
Trait Rerolls are precious, so spend them like a resource, not a gamble. Decide which unit and trait you want before you roll, and always keep your second trait slot stocked with a usable fallback. Follow the gold guide to afford the best rolls.
- Reroll your main carry first — it benefits most from damage and crit traits.
- Keep a Rare income or range trait stored while chasing a Mythic.
- Farm Trait Rerolls from quests, weekly raid shops, and the Gold Merchant.
- Use Auto Reroll with a rarity cap to avoid wasting stock.
- Never reroll Immortal once you have it — it is one per team.
